The RGPD and subcontracting training course was organised by the national trade union chamber for call centres and customer relations.
OVERVIEW
The new European regulation on the protection of personal data (RGPD) puts in place important new obligations in terms of privacy protection for organisations based in the EU, as well as for organisations that process data on individuals in the EU, regardless of where the organisation is based.
It could therefore have a direct impact on the ICT sector in Tunisia, in particular call centres working on behalf of European companies and managing databases, the banking sector, service companies, IT companies (particularly those specialising in the cloud) and telecom operators, given the extraterritorial application of the new European regulation.
The provisions of this new regulation will be directly applicable in all 27 Member States of the European Union from 25 May 2018.
